Alfanar submits lowest bid of $39.8m for Amaala 132/33kV Substations

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announced the bid results for Construction of Miraya and Triple Bay 132/33kV Substations at Amaala, the ultra-luxury destination located along north western coast of Saudi Arabia

Five bidders has submitted the proposals. Saudi based construction firm, Alfanar Construction has submitted the lowest bid.

Alfanar submitted the price of SAR 149.4million (USD 39.8 million).

The proposed substations will be feed the power to Amaala utilities.

Project involves the construction of two new indoor 132/33kV Gas Insulated Substations, named as Miraya and Triple Bay Substations.
It includes protection, control, communication and SAS/SCADA systems. The Substation consist of following major equipment:
  • 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) – Supplied by SEC
  • 80/100MVA, 132/33kV Power Transformers – Supplied by SEC
  • 20MVAR STATCOM
  • 33kV Switchgear
  • 1MVA, 33kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers
  • Power Cables and Terminations
  • AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply
  • Control/Protection System
  • Substation Automation System (SAS)
  • Communication System
  • Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
  • Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
  • HCIS Security System

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 25 months from Contract Signing Date.
