Hyundai submits lowest bid of $446.9m for Saudi-Egypt OHTL Project

Bidders has submitted the proposals for Over Head Transmission Line (OHTL) interconnection project between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Eight bidders has submitted the proposals. Hyundai Engineering & Construction, South Korea has submitted the lowest bid.

Hyundai has submitted the price of SAR 1.6 billion (USD 446.9 million).

Project Scope of Works includes, design, installation, testing and commissioning of 500kV OHTL between Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Approximate route length of OHTL is 900km.

The Egypt-Saudi Arabia Interconnection Project aims to connect the electricity grids of the two neighboring countries to create more flexibility in the regional electricity market. Upon completion, Egypt and Saudi Arabia will have the capacity to exchange 3000MW of electricity.
