Tareg Al Jaafari awarded $36m Sudair Solar PV 380kV Substation

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project, construction of Sudair Solar PV 380kV Substation . The Project location is in Sudair, around 150km from Riyadh.

The Project has been awarded to Saudi based construction firm, Tareg Al Jaafari Contracting Company.

The value of contract is SAR 135.2 million (USD 36 million).

The proposed substation will be interconnected to the proposed Renewable Energy (Solar) Power Plant at Sudair. The Planned Capacity of the Sudair Solar Power Plant is 1500MW. (read more)

Project involves the construction a new indoor 380kV Gas Insulated Substation, named as Sudair Solar PV 380kV Substation. SEC invites two separate tenders for this project.

Portion 1 involves the electrical material supply like Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and associated equipment. The Project has been awarded to Hitach ABB Power Grids (read more)

Portion 2 Scope of works includes 33kV Switchgear, 2.5MVA, 33kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers, 380kV, 60MVAR Reactors, Power Cables and Terminations, AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply, Surge Arresters, Control/Protection System, Substation Automation System (SAS) Communication System, Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System, Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works and HCIS Security System.

The duration of the project is 17 months.
