Oman received lowest bid of $190.5m for NR 32 Phase 1 Duqm Roads

Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, Oman announced the bidders prices for Construction of Dual Carriageway Road for NR 32 Phase 1 at Duqm located in Al Wusta Governorate.

Nine bidders has submitted the proposals. Oman based construction firm, Galfar Engineering and Contracting SAOG has submitted the lowest bid.

Galfar submitted the price of OMR 73.2 million (USD 190.5 million).

The Scope of Works includes:

  • Main Road consists of 03-lanes Dual Carriageways for length of 15.267 Km along with 04-Signalized Intersections, 01-Roundabout and hardscaped Center Median. Main road consists of 03-bridges proposed over natural Wadis Saay (428m), Jurf (581m) and Dangert (120m).
  • On both sides of Main Road, construction of Service Roads approximate length of 22km, fourteen (14) cul-de-sacs, vented floodways, drainage pipes and side walkways with hardscaping.
  • Construction of Link Roads approximate length of 5km for connections with future planning as well as to Duqm Refinery.
  • Ground Improvement Works
  • Construction of Earthen Embankments and Dykes, Sub-grade, Granular Sub Base Course, Aggregate Base Course, Bituminous Base Course, Bituminous Wearing Course, Polymer Modified Bituminous Wearing Course.
  • Construction of Diversion Road approximate length of 4km wherever required during execution.
  • Culverts and drainage catch pits,
  • LED street lighting & Traffic signaled intersections,
  • Landscaping, Irrigation system & Utilities
  • Relocation & protection of existing utilities and other ancillary works
