STRABAG submits lowest bid of $149.8m for 51km of Road works – Duqm Airport to Ras Markaz

The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) through the OPAZ Tender Committee (OTC) announces the bidders prices for the project “Construction of Roads from Duqm Airport to Ras Markaz”.

Global Firm, STRABAG has submitted the lowest bid. STRABAG submitted the price of OMR 57.6 million (USD 149.8 million).

The tender notification mentioned that, Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Joint Venture (JV) Contracting Companies with excellent and first grade Companies can bid the project.

Project Scope of work includes 51.192km all-weather road between Duqm Air Port R/A and OTTCO crude oil facility at Ras Markaz. The project is within Duqm Special Economic Zone boundary.

Major scope of work entails construction of 42.702Km dual carriageway with 2 lanes (3.75m each lane width) in each direction, 2.5Km dual carriageway with 2 lanes (3.65m each lane width) in each direction and 5.99Km single carriageway with 1 lane (3.5m each lane width) each direction.

Apart from that, the construction tender includes street lighting with electrical network and Public Lighting Management and Control System for all roads, 8 roundabouts, drainage structures, embankment protection etc.

Total construction time is 910 calendar days.
