UAE-based construction specialist Group AMANA has been appointed as the design and build contractor for the new GTF Engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Center being developed by Sanad in Al Ain, marking a significant step forward in the development of the UAE’s next-generation aviation and aerospace infrastructure.
The new facility, spanning approximately 64,000 square meters, will support Sanad’s ongoing expansion strategy and strengthen its global engine MRO capabilities. The project is also expected to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s growing position as a regional and international hub for aviation, advanced manufacturing, and industrial development.
Scheduled to become operational by 2028, the GTF Engine MRO Center is being developed in response to increasing demand for advanced aerospace infrastructure and future-ready industrial facilities capable of supporting long-term growth, operational efficiency, and innovation across the region’s aviation sector.
The milestone project was announced during Make it in the Emirates, highlighting the shared commitment of both companies to accelerate industrial growth, enhance local capabilities, and contribute to the UAE’s long-term economic diversification strategy.
The development of the new MRO center is expected to play a key role in strengthening the UAE’s aerospace ecosystem while supporting the country’s ambitions to expand high-value industrial and technology-driven sectors.
