SLDC has secured a major drilling contract from SLB for operations at Kuwait’s Mutriba Field, marking another significant milestone in the company’s regional expansion strategy and strengthening its position as a leading drilling services provider in the Middle East.
Under the agreement, SLDC will deploy two high-specification 3,000 horsepower drilling rigs for an initial three-year term, with options for further extension. The award reflects growing confidence in the company’s operational capabilities, safety standards, and ability to deliver high-performance drilling solutions in complex operating environments.
The Mutriba Field project is expected to support Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to enhance upstream production capacity and improve operational efficiency across its energy sector. Through this contract, SLDC aims to deliver reliable drilling performance while maintaining its strong commitment to safety, operational discipline, and sustainable value creation.
The company stated that the contract aligns with its long-term strategy of building a high-performance regional drilling platform focused on advanced technology, operational excellence, and strong client partnerships.
Earlier during February 2026, Kuwait Oil Company has awarded SLB a $1.5 billion, five-year integrated contract for the Mutriba field in Kuwait, including design, development and production management.
