Proposals received for Saudi Arabia’s 600MW Fais Solar PV IPP

The Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO) of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy has received the bidder’s final prices for 600MW Fasiliyah solar photovoltaic, Fais Solar PV IPP Project.

The Fais Solar PV IPP was part of Round Two Category B Solar PV Projects.

REPDO, earlier announces the shortlisted bidder prices for Round Two Category B Projects, namely Jeddah Solar PV IPP, Rabigh Solar PV IPP and Qurayyat Solar PV IPP (read more)

For Fais Solar PV IPP, the bids received from the lowest two bidders were extremely close and the difference in the levelised cost of electricity (LCOEs) was within statistical margin of error.

Accordingly, REPDO invites to submit the Best and Final Offer (BAFO) to the shortlisted bidders.

REPDO receives the proposals from the following two consortia:

  • Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – MASDAR, EDF, NESMA Holding
  • International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power), Al-Babtain Holding Investment Company, Gulf Investment Corporation

Successful Bidders will enter into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) as Offtaker.

REPDO already issued Request for Proposals (RFP) for Round Three Category B Solar PV Projects of total capacity, 1GW. (read more)
