Alfanar submits lowest bid of $68.8m for Amaala 380/132kV Substation

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announces the bid results for construction of Amaala 380/132kV Substation at Amaala, the ultra-luxury destination located along north western coast of Saudi Arabia

Seven bidders has submitted the proposals. Saudi based construction firm, Alfanar Construction Company Submitted the lowest bid.

Alfanar Submits the price of SAR 258.3 million (USD 68.8 million).

Project involves the construction a new indoor 380/132kV Gas Insulated Substation, named as Amaala BSP. It includes protection, control, communication and SAS/SCADA systems. The Substation consist of following major equipment:
  • 380kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)
  • 132kV GIS
  • 13.8kV Switchgear
  • 302/402/502MVA, 380/132/13.8kV power transformers
  • 2.5MVA, 13.8kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers
  • 380kV, 120MVAR Reactors
  • 13.8kV Grounding Transformers
  • Power Cables and Terminations,
  • AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply,
  • Surge Arresters
  • Control/Protection System,
  • Substation Automation System (SAS)
  • Communication System
  • Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
  • Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
  • HCIS Security System

Project Scope of Work also includes 380kV GIS expansion at Al wajh BSP along with all other required material.

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 25 months from Contract Signing Date.
