L&T secured EPC contract of Jeddah Solar PV Plant

India based construction firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Renewables secured Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract of Jeddah Solar PV Plant, which is part of Round 2 Category B projects of REPDO.

Jeddah Solar PV IPP will have a capacity of 300 MW to be located in the Makkah Province and approximately 50 km south-east of Jeddah city in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The project will utilize Bifacial Panels, Single Axis Trackers and String Inverters.

The project was awarded by the developer MASDAR, EDF Renouvelables S.A., NESMA.

Earlier, during April 2020, the developer consortium summitted the price of 6.09042 Halala/kWh for Jeddah Solar PV Plant (read more)

The notice to proceed (NTP) of the project is expected soon and the project execution period will be 17 months.

As announced by REPDO earlier, the developer consortium will enter into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) as Offtaker.

The generated power will be evacuated to the network through 110kV Overhead transmission line. The project was awarded to Mohammed Al Ojaimi Establishment during July 2020. (read more)
